Do I need physical access to the phone to install AndroidMonitor?

You need physical access only while installing the app. It will take you about a minute or more depending how fast you work and how fast your Internet connection is.

Once the application has been installed you will not need physical access again. You will be able to remotely monitor and control the device from your Private Area.
